Does your child have difficulty with feeding, breathing, sleeping, or reaching motor milestones? Many infants and children suffer from conditions that are caused by tightness in the connective tissue (fascia) of the body which can cause disruption in these areas. Symptoms may include:

  • weak latch
  • uncoordinated suck/swallow/breathe
  • tongue tie
  • tongue thrust
  • reflux
  • ear infections
  • asthma
  • learning disabilities
  • speech delays
  • torticollis
  • muscle contractures
  • and many others which can compromise a child’s functioning

Do you experience pain, limited motion, fatigue? As we age, fascia can tighten even further and cause limited range of motion and put pressure on pain sensitive structures such as nerves and vessels. Symptoms in adults include:

  • low back pain
  • TMJ dysfunction
  • sciatica
  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • headaches
  • joint pain
  • ringing in the ears
  • balance issues
  • hip/knee pain or dysfunction

Tightness can be caused by position in utero or by the birthing process itself, and it accumulates layer by layer as we grow. It can be compounded by a fall, car accident, intramuscular injections, dental work, concussions, and more, causing what may feel like a straight-jacket of pressure in the body.

Releasing this tightness is the goal of therapy and often results in significant improvements in function.
